This is one of my big art projects based on the French art protége Christo Javacheff Claude. This work sample was introducing the audience to Christo Claude based on his art specialty, which was environmental art, 5 facts about him (birth, death, family, early life, education, other facts) events which were happening in his era, several of his most state-of-the-art works which caught my eye, and finally, a quote which made all of us remember the prime of Christo Claude. He put the term, reduce, reuse and recycle to work.
I presented this work sample on my sophomore portfolio because his creativity shows no bounds in one of his famous paintings, "Gates" and keeps every other art project unique. From up until he was born until he died, he left a legacy which would not only change how contemporary art is, but modern art as well. He made a living out of recycling old and tattered plastic and other biodegradable assets and essentially mold them together to furbish this final product. These creations are creative to say the least, and are aesthetically pleasing. All things considered I displayed this work sample on my sophomore portfolio because its unique, spectacular and inspires many to make the most out of your petty little plastics.
The 21st century skills which were used in this project were Communication Skills. I say this primarily because I presented the project to my class at the due date. I explained how his work was anything but jive and encouraged people to follow his footsteps by reusing things creatively. For example he was creative and unique in all his contemporary and environmental aspects of his works. He would never in a million years do another "Gates". Nevertheless I used communication skills after gathering some information for my sources and communicated at the end to present my slideshow to the art class.
Something I picked up from this work sample and use it for next time is to not rush through the project. Taking the time to ensure the presentation looks neat and colorful like my other projects. Another aspect I should work on for next time is to memorize the presentation, look over it several times over and know what to say without having to glance or look at the screen for the duration of the presentation. I would also emphasize my voice which is important for the kids in the back to tune in to my presentation. Therefore, I did well on my presentation but sometimes you have to pick up some things which will aid you in the future.
The parts of the project which demonstrates my growth are being creative, not procrastinating, and volunteering to be one of the first to present before the end of the quarter. I chose a creative slide template (slidesgo) and made it aesthetically pleasing. I was also able to get this project done by cramming it, getting it done in a single day. When the day of the presentation came, I was able to present without any problems and was one of the first people to present. Clearly, there were no problems but there were things to expand upon which could have gave myself a better opinion about this project. So taking everything into account here, I presented this on my portfolio because it showed a hefty dose of 21st century skills, demonstrated my current trajectory and can predict on what I could do better.
