This is another one of my big humanities projects known as the mixtape project. Unlike many of my other work samples, the finished product wasn't created by myself, but rather it was a group project. The objective of this project was to create an assortment of songs, create cover art, and present it to the class. After everything is all said and done we would need to write a reflection on the 21st century skill(s) it represents, the aspects which went as planned and something you could improve for next time, which I will get into in a brief moment.
I have chose to publish this work sample on my 10th grade portfolio because this was one of my most successful projects with a peer. Even though we didn't get 10 songs right away, we still worked hard and made it count. This project was a fun one to make because of our carefree and very energetic theme dopamine. As the name suggests, dopamine is a chemical which gives you a boost in energy an relaxes your body. These songs as a mixtape are surely worth your bucks if you want a little thrill in your life these songs won't disappoint you.
The 21st century skill which was involved in this work sample was Interpersonal skills. Although my peer Jaci said I did most of the work, I really only distributed the work and made it fair for both of us to do parts of the work and parts of the presentation, which demonstrates teamwork and Interpersonal skills. Although this work sample had many areas of skill, my honest opinion is this project is more reliant on interpersonal skillsmanship. Therefore, the project couldn't have been possible without it, as well as other 21st century skills which may be present.
Some aspects I could work on for a future work sample are giving the peer a chance to do their half of the work. As you may know I did a little more than my partner in this group project and that wouldn't be fair. If it were, it would be split 50/50. I also should have A less broader one like dreamy and rock. This would have also helped with choosing my ten songs and brought out another kind of art which was more creative than my original cover art. Likewise from my art work sample, I should have memorized the slides and read them without glancing. I also should have added emphasis in my tone of voice making my peers in the back able to hear me. Overall, I think I did pretty well within this work sample with a little caveats here and there.
The actions I committed which demonstrates my growth are evenly distributing the work, not procrastinating, contributing my fair share of work and evenly distributing the presentation. This is one of the group project where I feel my peer has my back this time. Even though my partner says i did "200% effort" and I totally agree, I let her do a significant amount of work which put the definition into group project. Most importantly, neither of us procrastinated, getting the project ready to go fairly early. Even though she did a significant amount of work, I did my hefty dose of work as well, completing the cover art and agreeing on 10 songs we should present for this work sample. WE even shared and took turns presenting the slides as a team to the class. To be honest with you, we crushed this work sample like a nail in the coffin in a good way though. Our combined effort proved to be very successful and this is why I chose to present this work sample on my portfolio.
